Golden Insect LTD is a pioneer center that professionally and commercially breeds insects and other living macro& micro-organisms for feed, food and other uses (Bio-waste transformation into vermicompost and sanitation ( vermicomposting fecal matter ) in Rwanda. The project is the result of the dissertation of Agric.Eng. Dominique Xavio Imbabazi in his undergraduate at University of Rwanda –College of Agriculture, Animal sciences and Veterinary Medicine (UR-CAVM) in Horticulture, his topic was ‘’ The impact of vermicompost on growth and yield of potatoes in the northern-western regions of Rwanda’’ He was inspired by one of the course Entomology which deals with studying insects and other living organisms which gave him the full package on the behavior of insects and other living organisms. After graduation in 2016, He immediately started Golden Insect LTD. The project was legally registered in 2019 with aim of promoting the use of insects and other living for food security, nutrition and Health in Rwanda.
